Other promo's

I want to show the other promo's too because they are pretty awesome as well. The one that is chosen for the campaign, "Shapes", is pretty well documented and there is some cool concept art on Robert-Jonathan's blog. I will ask him if I can link his blog and do that if it's okay.

All the promo's and some concept art is definitely gonna be shown at the festival itself so if you wanna see more of it you can come to the festival to check it out. It's a free festival with a great line-up this year. I'm gonna be there as well.

Finally an update...

Hey guys, last quarter there wasn't anything particularly interesting to show so here I am again with the first update for quarter 4 of the year. This quarter where gonna work on a promo for a music festival in Rotterdam; Metropolis festival. It is a very big festival and is internationally known for musicians becoming famous after they performed there. Bands like "The xx", "The Strokes", "The Black Keys" and "The Prodigy" are a few examples.

It is a group commission for 3 people and I have a very good group of classmates I'm working with now. Rümeysa Önal and Brontë Kolster are both working with me on this. It is a commission that needs to be in 3D which is something I'm pretty familiar with. I'm looking forward very much to what the end-product is gonna be.

Also there is a very real chance that our promo is gonna be on the actual festival itself. Some people from the organization are gonna come on the 28th of May to judge all the promo's that where made and is gonna choose one of them to be shown on the festival. Where all working very hard and we'd love to be the one to be chosen.

Later I will do a full update with some work we made but for now there is not much to be shown. I made a beter render of the 'cell' character I've shown before and in the near future I hope to have a better version of the 'life in space' explanation I made in the second quarter, since I didn't really finish it then.

The one on the right turned into the one on the right. I hope to make a full series with more of these kinds of 3D renders. I like making them and where gonna use something similar in the promo for the Metropolis festival.

New style for my animation

Firstly I wanted to animate using a vectortype drawing style. But then I tried using a more traditional way of drawing in photoshop and I decided I liked that more.
